Hands-off MY sandwich – Khushbu Thadani

Hands-off MY sandwich

I’m going to sound like a 90-year old reminiscing on ‘the good ol’ days’ but it has to be said: “They don’t make TV like they used to”.  Sex and the City and FRIENDS undoubtedly raised the bar, but the idea of watching TV just doesn’t appeal to me as much as before.  With the exception of Modern Family & Desperate Housewives, there aren’t many shows which I am dying to catch up with on the new season.

Although that correlation may also do with the fact that TV in Mumbai is pretty terrible.  MasterChef and Kaun Banega Crorepati  (i.e. = Who Wants to Be a Millionaire)  seem to be favorites here and if you’re not a fan of either, you’re pretty much doomed…or well-stocked with DVDs.  One thing I can, however, count on from TV here is its loyalty to FRIENDS.  Seven years later and the reruns are still in full form, and for that I am extremely grateful. That is one show which will never, ever get old.  Don’t even ask me who my favorite character is because I won’t be able to decide and as for my favorite episode, way too many come to mind such as:

The One With Ross’s Sandwich

“You took my sandwich…MY sandwich”…hahaha CLASSIC

I guess I would’ve shared Ross’s sentiments too if that happened to the sandwich I had for lunch last week…even though it did lack any ‘Moist-Maker’:

“Thanksgiving Came Early” Sandwich:

*Ideal if you like the combination of sweet and savoury*

Ingredients:

  • Cream Cheese
  • Strawberry jam/fruit preserves
  • Turkey
  • Lettuce
  • Rye bread/ whatever you prefer

…and because Thanksgiving is never complete without pie, I had no choice but to snack on one of these babies later on:

Make me laugh: What’s one of your top FRIENDS lines?
