Oh Deer! – Khushbu Thadani

Oh Deer!

Those of you are my ‘friend’ on Facebook are aware that I just ate one of the best burgers in my life.  And those of you who aren’t now know that I’m addicted to status updates and have no shame about it :)!  Anyways back to this burger.  If this burger was a website, its URL would be http://thebomb.com.

When I saw my brother had picked up some Venison & Red Onion Burgers from Marks & Spencer, there was no question about it: 1 for me, 3 for him :)!  For those of you who have never indulged in venison/deer meat (and aren’t vegans/vegetarian), get on it ASAP!  Because of its red meat counterparts like beef, pork and lamb, venison tends to be seriously underrated.  Unlike the former sources of meat, venison is very low in saturated fat and calories yet high in protein and iron.  The B vitamins in venison also provides better energy and cardiovascular health.   More than that all that, it just tastes so freakin’ delicious!

I’m not brave enough to handle raw red meat on its own so these pre-made venison burgers are super convenient:  all I have to do is stick a fork in it, place it on a piece of foil, and then grill it in the oven for 10-15 minutes.  And if the idea of eating ‘Bambi’ makes you shudder, what about ‘Babe’, ‘Daisy’, and ‘Shaun’ 😉 ?

Venison- are you GAME?
